The Foreign Ministers of China and Pakistan, Qin Gang and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari participated in a press conference, in which Gang asked the Taliban authorities the pay full attention to the security concerns of the neighboring countries, and take extra measures in this regard.
“We are hopeful that Taliban will establish an inclusive government and respect the rights of all the people of Afghanistan,” Gang said.
Gang also reiterated on friendly relations between the neighboring countries – adding that neighbors should be friendly because they cannot change their locations.
The foreign ministers of China and Pakistan emphasized on strengthening stability, economic and social development in Afghanistan.
The two sides considered the continuation of the international community’s aid to Afghanistan of paramount importance. They also emphasized that Afghanistan Central Bank’s frozen assets should be released.
Previously also, Afghanistan’s neighbors and the international community had called on the Taliban to form an inclusive government, in which all ethnic groups, political factions and women could see them represented. However, the Taliban-run administration has continuously ignored such claims and emphasized its priorities and policies.
During the trilateral meeting, the Chinese side asked the Taliban Action Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi that the Taliban should accomplish its commitment to fight terrorism and ensure the safety of Chines nationals and institutions in Afghanistan.
