Imran apologizes in Judge Zeba threat case

ISLAMABAD (INP): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister has apologized before the court in a female judge threat’ case.
According to details, a female judge ‘threat’ case was heard against the PTI chairman in the court of the judicial magistrate Islamabad. Imran Khan’s lawyer Salman Safdar appeared before the court along with his client. PTI Chairman, in court, stated that he had formed a political party 27 years ago. I went to the courtroom of Judge Zeba Chaudhry to apologise for whatever I said in a political gathering.
“I apologise, If I had crossed the line and hurt anyone,” the former prime minister in his statement said. The PTI chairman on Aug 20, last year, condemned police as well as the judiciary over the alleged custodial torture on Shahbaz Gill and announced that his
party would file cases against Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, the DIG and AD&SJ Zeba Chaudhry. He was booked under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA). Besides, Islamabad High Court (IHC) also initiated contempt of court proceedings against him.
PTI chairman’s bail extended in three cases till 26th: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday extended interim bail of the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief in three cases.
The court extended the PTI chairman’s interim bail till July 26 in three cases registered against him at the police stations Kahna and Bhara Kahu. Earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and other party leaders in two arson cases.
The ATC judge Abher Gul Khan issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the PTI chief and other party leaders including Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hammad Azhar, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and Hassan Ullah Niazi. The arrest warrants were issued for their continuous absence in the hearings of the two arson cases – 23/366 (Model Town police station) and 23/1078 (Naseerabad police station). It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI chief had been facing over 100 cases under different charges in the country.
