Indian actress Swara Bhaskar in trouble for comparing Taliban’s takeover to Hindutva

MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has once again offended many Indians by her tweet. The actress found herself in controversy as she compared the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan to Hindutva.

Indians believe it is a slur on Hindu community and only to serves to fuel further anger. The actress constantly remains in news for her opinions on social media and this time she made a comment on the ongoing crises in Afghanistan.

People of India are demanding the arrest of Bhaskar and the Hashtag ‘ArrestSwaraBhaskar’ is trending on Twitter.

In her 1st tweet, she wrote, “We can’t be okay with Hindutva terror & be all shocked & devastated at Taliban terror.. & We can’t be chill with #Taliban terror; and then be all indignant about #Hindutva terror! Our humanitarian & ethical values should not be based on identity of the oppressor or oppressed.”

She rephrased it and said: “Let me rephrase! The #Taliban doesn’t deserve our nuance… notwithstanding American Imperialism which is wrong and must be critiqued. But Taliban does not deserve nuance. Recognise their many many evils and wrongdoings!”

Her tweets hurt Indian sentiments hence as Swara compared the situation to India in her tweet. Since then she is getting trolled fiercely on social media.

In fact she identified the word “terror” with “Hindutva” made her a subject of hate. Thousands of people are now asking for her arrest on Twitter.

Earlier, Swara received backlash in 2020 when a clip of her opposing the CAA bill went viral on social media.
