Islamabad court overturns ban on YouTube channels

ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has annulled the decision to block various YouTube channels.

The court announced its reserved verdict on appeals filed by 11 YouTubers regarding the closure of 27 YouTube channels. The court accepted the appeals, declaring the earlier order by the judicial magistrate null and void.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka delivered the reserved verdict, granting relief to prominent petitioners including Matiullah Jan, Asad Toor, and Abdul Qadir.

A total of 11 YouTubers had filed appeals against the judicial magistrate’s decision, and the court ruled on these 11 appeals specifically.
