Islamabad where lack of services for combating covid-19 can raise threats

ISLAMABAD: In federal capital Islamabad according to the Ministry of National Health Services & Coordination (NHSC) statistics till yet 82 confirmed cases reported but no death occurred due to the Coronavirus across the capital.

The ministry official statistics mentioned that first 2 cases of the deadly coronavirus reported on 10th of the march but no case were reported in the capital till 13th march. Till the 26th April the ratio of per day of confirmed cases was less than 5 but surprisingly on 26th March 09 confirmed cases were reported from the capital. The statistics added that on 29th March 7 new confirmed cases reported following 09 cases were reported on 30th march and at the end of the month the tally of the confirmed covid-19 patients reached to 54.

Following the statistics of the ministry of NHS the month of April bring bad news for the residents of Islamabad and till 5th April 28 new confirmed cases of the deadly coronavirus reported only in 5 days which ratio is more than 5 cases per day. No case were reported on first day of the month but on next dates 8,6,7,3, and 4 confirmed cases reported in federal capital Islamabad. The federal government submitted report in Supreme Court of Pakistan reveled that till April 25, the number of the coronavirus patients can reach to 50000 with more than 9000 will be of critical condition.

While doing analysis of Islamabad cases according to the month of April the numbers of confirmed cases are more than 5 per day. In Islamabad till yet 82 confirmed cases reported of the covid-19 and till 25th of April the number of the patients can reached to 250.

But where the Islamabad stands in services and preparation against covid-19

Quarantine facilities: According to the details submitted by the government to honorable court regarding Islamabad the government 3 hospitals including PIMS, Policlinic and Capital Hospital have only 54 beds (Quarantine) availability as well 300 beds quarantine centers in different private place? (But no one aware of the facilities inside these centers). Details added 30 beds quarantine availability in PIMS, 12 beds in Policlinic and 12 beds availability in Capital Hospital.

Ratio of doctors: According to details there are a total of 875 doctors in government sector hospitals in which 112 doctors deployed for dealing the covid-19 patients.

ICU facility: The government own statistics reveled that in three government hospitals there are total of 84 beds availability inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where other patients of cardiac and lungs diseases are also in ICU.

Ratio of ventilators: The government statistics added that till yet the government has only 107 ventilators in Islamabad in government hospitals in which only 17 has been reserved for covid-19 patients.
