Let Pakistan speak for its  role in Ukraine: Kirby

Washington DC: White House National Security Spokesperson, John Kirby said that he will let Pakistan speak for it’s role in Ukraine. 

When asked by The Frontier Post that why Pakistan’s role and support to Ukraine is not being highlighted by the United States, John Kirby said that there are more than fifty countries which are supporting Ukraine in one way or another and “we let those countries speak for themselves.” He also stated that some countries which don’t like to talk about the support they are giving to Ukraine. 

To another question by The Frontier Post regarding a big protest rally in front of the White House by Pakistani Americans who condemned the removal and arrest of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, John Kirby said that this is domestic issue of Pakistani people and it’s government and that “they have to deal with it”. 

While replying to a question by a correspondent of Press of India regarding the Sikh killing in Canada by an Indian diplomat, John Kirby said that the allegations of Canada are of serious nature and that he will leave it to India and Canada to solve this issue. 

When asked by a Voice of America correspondent about the normalization of ties with Taliban, John Kirby said that the U.S. has not recognized the Taliban government in Afghanistan and that the U.S. will keep holding them accountable until they fulfill their commitments especially with regard to women having access to education. With regard to Afghanistan, Kirby also said that “terrorism is still a threat.”

With regard to the Russia Ukraine war and the release of more aid by the United States, John Kirby said that the US will support Ukraine “for as long as it takes.” John Kirby further said that every Committe in the US Congress and Senate has recommended the support to Ukraine and that this war has US national security interests involved.
