Mohsin Naqvi elected unanimously as PCB chairman

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday was elected unopposed as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman for three years after his rival Mustafa Ramday decided to step down from the competition.

In this connection, a meeting of PCB Board of Governors chaired by its interim chief Shah Khawar was held at the National Cricket Academy located near Qaddafi Stadium

Naqvi will serve as the 37th chairman of the PCB after caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar nominated him for its Board of Governors. He is set to assume the charge after leaving the office of Punjab caretaker chief minister.

Earlier in January, Zaka Ashraf resigned as the chairman of the PCB Management Committee who had replaced Najam Sethi.

His short tenure saw Pakistan failing to qualify in the Asia Cup final and the World Cup semi-finals, as they also experienced 3-0 white wash in the Test series played in Australia.
