NAB writes letter to stop Sharif family from sale, transfer of assets

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has stopped the Nawaz Sharif and his children including Maryam Nawaz, Hassan and Hussain from the selling and transferring their properties.

As per the local media, a letter with the approval of DG NAB Lahore has been sent to Nawaz Sharif and his children and informed the Sharif family that they cannot sell or transfers the properties under National Accountability Ordinance 1999 section 23.

The NAB letter states that if the Sharif family violated the NAB’s order it will bring punishment for them under the NAB law’s section 23-A

Recently the Sharif family is in London as Nawaz’s wife, Kulsoom is undergoing treatment for her throat cancer.

The family failed to appear in the Islamabad Accountability Court on September 19 with regards to three references filed against them by NAB in light of the Supreme Court’s Panama case judgment of July 28. The next hearing of the case is on September 26.
