ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister Imran Khan established Langhar Khanas (Community Kitchens) in federal capital Islamabad have no precautionary measures and no social distancing observed at any Langar Khana Frontier Post has learnt. This scribe visits to these Langar Khanas observed that around 100 people gathered both at launch and breakfast timings and standing in queues for obtaining food from counter. The scribe also found that few individuals wearing masks but no social distancing observed on any Langar Khana in Islamabad.
A daily wager on G-9 langar Khana told Frontier Post that the capital is facing lockdown due to the outbreak of the covid-19 that’s why thousands of daily wagers lost their jobs and waiting for work but no one offer work to us. He added that all food outlets are closed that’s why we gathered here for taking food adding that we are aware of the risk of the virus but no alternative option for us either die from the shortage of food or from the infection of the virus.
It’s pertained to mentioned here that more than 100 people gathered at lunch and dinner time in queues having no precautionary measures or social distancing.
A daily wager Merwais Khan told Frontier Post that this is the sole place where we can do lunch and dinner because all food outlets are closed due to the lockdown imposed by the district administration. He added that here two security guards are deployed but they are not doing efforts to control the crowd. It should be noted here that 54 confirmed cases reported in federal capital of the covid-19 till Wednesday. When contacted deputy commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqat he responded that we are aware of the environment on Langhar Khanas but we will soon adopt measures to control the spread of the corona virus.
