KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team’s chief selector, Inzamam Ul Haq seemed satisfied with the team’s performance in the second ODI against England on Saturday.
England, batting first, posted a mammoth total of 373 courtesy of Jos Buttler’s 50-ball ton, which made the game look like a one-sided affair.
However, Pakistan fought courageously and took the game till the last over, where they needed 19 runs, eventually the hosts won the game by 12 runs.
“Pakistan’s performance in the second ODI was good,” said Inzamam. “It was a big total, if Pakistan had won it, I would have been happy.”
Inzamam talked about Shadab Khan and said that there are positive results in his reports and he is optimistic about his availability during the World Cup.
On the other hand, he also stated that Mohammad Hafeez is fit and he has been bowling and batting even before traveling to England.
The chief selector further said that they have announced the World Cup squad, however, they are still monitoring players’ performance during the ODI series against England.
