PHC annoys facilities at Chitral National Park

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench comprising of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Qaiser Rashid and Justice Ijaz Anwar has directed Secretary Communication and Works (C&W) to appear before court on 29 March in construction of roads for accessibility to Chitral National Park, on Friday.
During hearing Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan inquired from District Forest Officer Altaf Ali Shah regarding the operations at the national park, however, DFO informed that eight government’s watcher along with 18 community personnel are deployed for protection of Markhor and Ibex.
Moreover, Chief Justice remarked that unfortunately Chitral National Park is a national asset but no one had owned the treasure and added that he himself visited the premises while found poor condition of roads in the area which has made the region inaccessible for tourists.
Furthermore, DFO informed that high-ups are informed regarding shortage of human resources and hopeful for resolution of the issue while Additional Advocate General Syed Sikandar Hayat along with Chitral Conservation Committee’s counsel Ghuffranullah Shah Advocate were present before court.
Likewise, Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid remarked that unfortunately no department had owned the responsibility to protect the national asset while added that shall everything can be done on the intervention of courts.
The divisional has directed Secretary C&W to appear before PHC on informing regarding his responsibility for construction of roads and adjourned further hearing till 29 March.
