PHC directs Pesco to receive bills from APTMA in installments

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has been directed Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to receive arrears of March and April from All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter in equal installments from June to December.

During hearing Justice Qaiser Rashid remarked that owners may not fill their losses by dismissal of labors from factories. The counsel for APTMA assured that owners would ensure their employment after lockdown.

The counsel for APTMA Ghulam Dastageer Advocate informed PHC that factories were closed on government orders to curtain spread coronavirus in the country.

The counsel for APTMA also write letter to PESCO on situation of industries but it had issued bills to textile industry of March and April months.

The counsel informed honorable court that APTMA had granted Rs, 50 million for corona relief fund.

On the information of counsel regarding relief fund honorable Justice Qaiser Rashid remarked that in foreign industrialist had provided support to governments on larger scale.

He added that in such situation industrialists had provided billions of $ assistance government to secure masses from pandemic.

The counsel assured honorable court that he would discuss the suggestions with industry to provide financial support to government on larger scale.

The two-member bench comprising of Justice Qaiser Rashid and Justice Nasir Mehfooz heard the petition and directed PESCO to receive bills in equal installments.
