LAHORE: Police have arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat in Lahore under section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
Marwat was taken into custody from the GPO Chowk outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday and shifted to an unknown place.
While reacting to the development, the PTI has condemned the arrest of Sher Afzal Marwat, saying it was absolutely shameful and disgusting that the caretaker government has no respect for the courts.
In a post uploaded on X platform, the PTI said “Abduction of lawyers from the premises of LHC is absolutely shameful and represents once again the respect for courts in the eyes of those in power. Caretaker government is crossing all limits of fascism. LHC judges must ensure safe recovery of Sher Afzal Marwat immediately, this is unacceptable.”
