PSX witnesses bullish trend, gains 218 points

ISLAMABAD: The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bullish trend on Tuesday, gaining 218 points, a positive change of 0.52 percent, closing at 42,265.36 against 42,047.36 points on the last working day.

A total of 237,359,327 shares were traded during the day as compared to 240,219,754 shares the previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs5.801 billion against Rs5.447 billion on the last trading day.

Around 379 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 195 of them recorded gains and 150 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 34 companies remained unchanged.

The three top trading companies were Fauji Foods Ltd with 31,070,349 shares at Rs6.35 per share, World Call Telecom with 22,922,021 shares at Rs1.57 per share, and Cnergyico PK with 14,282,996 shares at Rs5.00 per share.

Khyber TobaccoXB witnessed a maximum increase of Rs32.49 per share price, closing at Rs465.71, whereas the runner-up was Reliance Cotton with a Rs43.85 rise in its per share price to Rs633.85.

Allawasaya Tex witnessed a maximum decrease of Rs249.16 per share closing at Rs3,073.03, followed by Rafhan Maize XD with a Rs854 decline to close at Rs10,576.00. (APP)
