PTI founder Imran Khan enjoying full B-class privileges in jail, says Adiala superintendent

F.P. Report

RAWALPINDI: The Superintendent of Central Jail Adiala Tuesday confirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is receiving complete B-class facilities during his incarceration, dismissing widespread social media rumours of mistreatment.

The jail superintendent stated that the former prime minister has been provided with a personal assistant for food preparation, access to a bicycle, an LED TV, daily newspapers, and his own collection of books.

“He has been placed in a secure complex comprising seven cells, which includes an open courtyard for daily walks and exercise,” the official said.

Contrary to standard jail protocol, these extensive amenities are not extended to other B-class inmates, making Khan’s treatment notably exceptional.

Highlighting his routine, officials said Imran Khan walks and exercises for at least two hours every day, and there have been no reports of illness or health complications in the past two weeks.

The administration also confirmed that over the last three months, Khan has met with 66 individuals, including party leaders and family members.

The jail authorities also disclosed that Imran Khan has tweeted 413 times from prison, with many of these posts containing key political statements and instructions. These tweets have gained significant traction, having been featured in national media headlines 145 times, while Khan has also maintained communication with 10 international media outlets during his detention.

“There is no truth in the rumours circulating on social media about his conditions,” the superintendent said, adding that the jail administration is fulfilling its responsibilities with professionalism and transparency.
