KHYBER: The Govt of Pakistan, Pak Army and Frontier Corps North continue their dedicated efforts to rehabilitate returning of tribes to Rajgal Valley. In the second phase of this initiative, 1356 families from three villages, Barai, Bagh and Pata Kallay are expected to return between September 25, 2023 and November 10, 2023.
According to details, till to date, 681 families have returned to their homes. Under the Community Engagement Program of Frontier Corps North, returning families are receiving essential support, including dry rations, tents, warm blankets and other necessities. Additionally, a primary medical center has been established to provide special check-ups and free medicines to returning families.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and Inspector General Frontier Corps North, Major General Noor Wali Khan, recently visited Rajgal to welcome the returning families. Chief Secretary issued directives to the district administration to ensure the care and welfare of these families.
IGFC North assured the returnees for their complete rehabilitation, emphasizing the prevailing peace in Rajgal Valley. During their visit, the Chief Secretary announced various development projects including the construction of a market, a road connecting the villages of Saporai, Patai, and Bagh, the establishment of a CPLC, the appointment of an Assistant Commissioner for Bagh, the appointment of a Union Council member and machinery to clear roads blocked due to snowfall in the winter season. In an effort to enhance healthcare access, Chief Secretary and IGFC North inaugurated the newly constructed Basic Health Unit at Rajgal, which will provide vital health services to the local community.
The families returning to Rajgal are also benefiting from the Benazir Income Support Program, receiving financial assistance from the Govt of Pak. Notably, in the first phase in 2021 and 2022, 15,690 families were successfully resettled in Tirah.
The families expressing their gratitude extended their thanks to the Govt of Pak, the Pakistan Army and the Frontier Corps North for their unwavering support noting their happiness at returning to their homeland and the provision of essential facilities.
