VIENNA (RIA Novosti): The Russian delegation at the talks on military security and arms control in Vienna called on the United States for transparency in the withdrawal of modern weapons from Ukraine following the results of the Ukrainian-American exercise Sea Breeze-2021.
The official opening ceremony of the international exercises Sea Breeze-2021 was held in Odessa on Monday. Exercise Sea Breeze-2021 will be held from June 28 to July 10 in the Black Sea . They will involve 5,000 servicemen and 32 ships from 32 countries.
“We note that the scale and aggressiveness of the Sea Breeze 2021 exercise does not contribute to security in the Black Sea. We call on the United States and its allies to abandon the practice of military operations where regional CSBMs already exist,” the delegation said on its Twitter account.
“We hope that following the results of the exercise, the United States will show transparency in withdrawing modern weapons, ammunition and material property from Ukraine in order to avoid them falling into the hands of the military and national formations in Donbass,” the delegation added.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov, said that under the cover of the Sea Breeze exercises, NATO would supply Ukraine with modern weapons, which would later be transferred to the troops and national battalions in Donbass .
Multinational military exercises have been held in Ukraine since 1997. The organizers of the exercises are Ukraine and the United States.
