SAFRON body directs health department KP to issue show cause notice to 602 illegal employees

ISLAMABAD: The Senate standing committee on SAFRON was briefed by the health department Khyber Pukhtunkhwa on Monday and told the committee that 602 employees illegally recruited by the officials of the health ministry in district Khyber in 2018-20 on which the committee directed the health department to serve show cause notices to all employees on immediate bases.

The health department official of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa added that a total of 602 employees in health sector of merged Khyber district recruited during 2018-20 which are currently working on different posts in district.

The committee while arguing with health department officials directed to terminate services of all such employees on immediate basis on which the official responded that if we terminate the services of these employees they will move to court to challenge the decision of termination.

The committee directed to freeze their salaries and issue show cause notices to illegal employees and their responses should be submitted in courts.

The health department official added that the health department transferred the DHO due to the criminal negligence and a junior staff member is also terminated from their services. The committee ordered the health department to submit details of the illegal employees to the committee.

The committee was briefed by the head of the National College of Arts (NCA) regarding doubling of quota of the merged tribal districts students in light of the cabinet approval in 2017, the head of the college told the committee that due to limited space and poor infrastructure of college we are unable to adjust the additional students this year but we will adjust the students in coming year.

The committee was also briefed by the ZTBL official regarding the loan paid to the merged district residence till 2012 and the committee recommendation to waive off the loan on which the ZTBL officials told that we are in contact with State Bank of Pakistan and soon a notification will be issued in this regard.

The committee mentioned that the erstwhile FATA hits by the war and terror violently and the resident urgently need financial relief from government.
