Senate eligibility case: Apex court dismisses Dar’s medical certificate

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court rejected the medical certificate of Senator Ishaq Dar in Senate election eligibility case and ordered him to appear before the court.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar headed a three-member bench as it conducted hearing of the case on Tuesday.

CJP asked the Dar’s lawyer Salman Butt that where is his client and remarked that have you read the last order of the court.

The lawyer replied that Ishaq Dar is ill and is under treatment in London and adding that medical certificate was submitted in the court.

CJP rejected the medical certificate and directed him to appear before the court in personal capacity and remarked that ask Dar when will appear before the court.

Top judge added that court will provide him protective bail.

The court while rejecting Ishaq Dar’s medical certificate directed his lawyer to inform them about his return.
