Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI (APP): Shipping activity remained active at the Port where five ships. MSC Al-Ghero Maersk Columbus, Chemroad Nava, YM Miranda and Kenta carrying Containers, Palm oil, Chemicals and Soya bean seeds were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Grain & Fertilizer Terminal respectively, on Tuesday, October 24.

Meanwhile two more ships, oil tanker Bahra and Gas carrier Gas Husky also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at seventy one percent on Tuesday where a total of twelve ships namely, MSC Al-Ghero, Maersk Columbus, Thor Insuvi, Ocean Pretect, Yasa IIhan, lady Amna, Kenla, Al-SHeehaniya, Gas Esco, YM Miranda, Chemroad Navo and Lion-M are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers. Cement, Coal, Soya bean seeds, LNG, LPG, Chemicals, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling during last 24 hours stood at 141,278 tonnes, comprising 108,920 tonnes import cargo and 32,358 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,458 Containers TEUs. 2,026 TEUs imports and 1,432 TEUs exports was handled at the Port.

Two ships. Gas carrier Al-Sheehaniya and Oil tanker Lion-M sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships Thor Insuvi and yasa IIhan are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon and another ship Maersk Columbus is expected to sail at night hours.

Two ships, M.V Wade-Al-buslan and M.T Pavino Spirit carrying 41,322 lonnes Coal and 69,935 tonnes Furnace oil are expected to take berths at MW-4 and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday, 25th October, while M.T White Purl and M.T Bahra are due to arrive of Port Qasim on same day, and >V Suez Canal is due to arrive on Thursday, 26th October-2017.
