Shoukat assures to address issues of nurses

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Shoukat Yousafzai on Wednesday said that government was working to address all issues of nurses including up gradation of of nurses schools into colleges to enhance their capacity building.

He said that to ensure timely promotion of nurses, the government has   implemented service structure. The minister expressed these views while speaking as chief guest at debate competition ceremony on “International Day for Midwifes” held at Nursing School of Khyber Teaching Hospital.

He said that shortage of nurses across the province would be overcome as their role in health sector is as important as doctors.

Earlier, Shoukat Yousafzai also participated in awareness walk held in connection with International Midwifes Day.  He said that nurses role was very important in medical treatment of patients.  He highlighted importance of experts midwifes role in provision of health care facilities to mother and child especially in rural areas.

Shoukat Yousafzai said that provision of standard health facilities were top priority of government for which necessary steps were being taken with prime focus of remote areas.

He strongly condemned baseless propaganda against polio vaccination and said that people of the province would foil any conspiracy to sabotage this national cause.  He appreciated dedication and hard work of polio workers in eradication of polio from the province.

He said the country was on the right track under the leadership of Imran Khan, adding the present economic woes were due to wrong policies of corrupt leaderships of previous governments. 

At the end of ceremony, he distributed prizes among students winners of the debate competition.
