Sindh extends Rangers’ special powers for three months

KARACHI: The Sindh government has extended the special powers of the Rangers in all across the province for 90 days.

According to details, the summary regarding the extension to the Rangers’ special power was sent to the Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, which was approved on Friday.

The grant of extension to the special authority to the Rangers will expire on July 4, 2019.

The Rangers had been given powers under Section-5 of the Anti Terrorism Act, 1997 according to which Rangers were authorised to conduct a raid and arrest accused.
