KABUL (TOLONews): Today (Sunday, July 20), the National Examination Authority announced the results of the 1404 (Solar Year) nationwide university entrance exam (Kankor).
This year’s Kankor was held in two categories: General and Religious Schools.
Sayed Musa, son of Seyed Dawood Sadat, secured the first position in the 1404 Kankor with a score of 356.574.
In this exam, Mohammad Nazir, son of Mohammad Taher, also scored 356.574 and ranked second; Hamza, son of Abdul Latif, ranked third with 353.533; Azmatullah, son of Bismillah, ranked fourth with 353.283; and Wakman, son of Amirullah, came fifth with 353.283.
It is worth noting that both Seyed Musa and Mohammad Nazir graduated from Pamir Nowin Private High School, Hamza from Ghulam Haidar Khan High School, and Azmatullah from Ibrahim Khalilullah High School. All of them have been admitted to the Faculty of Medicine at Kabul Medical University. Wakman, who ranked fifth, graduated from Surdag High School and has been admitted to the Faculty of Medicine at Nangarhar University.
On the other hand, Faisal, son of Kalamuddin, scored 316.066 and ranked first in the Religious Schools category. He graduated from Imam Mohammad bin Hasan Shaybani Darul Uloom in Kabul and has been admitted to the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Kabul University.
At the same time, Abdul Baqi Haqqani, head of the National Examination Authority, stated during the results announcement ceremony that 100,548 individuals participated in this year’s Kankor exam.
Haqqani added that out of this number, 51,181 individuals have been admitted to higher and semi-higher education institutions.
This year’s nationwide Kankor results are being announced while, nearly four years on, the fate of education for girls beyond the sixth grade remains uncertain.
