Traffic accident in Afghanistan’s Parwan kills 1, injures 3 others

PARWAN (Khaama Press): Taliban’s provincial official in Parwan province said as a result of a traffic accident one person died and three others sustained injuries.

The Islamic Emirates’ security command in Parwan province on Friday in a news release said the incident took place around 10:00 am in the morning, resulting in the death of one person and injury of three others.

A Toyota Corolla car collided with a motorcycle in the Sar-e-Khwaja Sayaran area of Charikar city in Parwan province, the statement said.

As a result of the collision, the biker died and three passengers including a woman sustained injuries, according to the provincial security command officials.

The wounded people have been carried to Parwan provincial hospital for treatment, and investigations are under into the incident, the news release stated.

The number of road accidents have unprecedentedly increased in the rent past, claiming the lives of scores of people in different parts of the country.

Experts link the increasing number of traffic accidents in different parts of the country to careless driving, cracked and unpaved roads, poorly maintained vehicles, and failing to abide by traffic rules. Meanwhile, Parwan police command reported the arrest of a thief who was trying to steal an auto-rickshaw in front of a private hospital in Parwan province.
