Violation of environmental laws

A report of Environmental Protection Agency Khyber Puktunkhwa reveals that big industrial units are not complying with the Environmental Index that was directed in a suomotu case which comprised installation of flow meters, setting up treatment plants for the polluted water and its purification and tree plantation of 10000 saplings. The report says that none of 10 industries have complied with these indices except one which has installed only flow meter while ignoring rest of the directives of the Apex Court.

Environmental Protection Agency has restricted itself to the inspection of environment polluting industries and issuance of notices to them but did not take appropriate action against the violators of environmental laws. The industrial units not only dispose of poisonous waste into running water but steel rerolling mills, chip board and cement factories emit high density greenhouse gases that cause air pollution. Not only the private sector industries but semi government authorities like PDA also is a big air polluter and violations of environmental and solid waste management laws is its daily practice which is very much in the knowledge of high-ups of Environmental Protection Agency. Will this Agency move beyond from issuing notices to taking action against environment polluters?
