PAF wins CAS challenge Polo Cup

LAHORE: 26th Chief of Air Staff Challenge Polo Cup 2017 concluded at Lahore today. Pakistan Air Force won the final match by defeating Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) with 5 goals to 9. Air Marshal Farooq Habib, Acting Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, was the Chief Guest at closing ceremony of the tournament, held at Pakistan Park Lahore.
The Chief Guest awarded CAS Challenge Cup to the winning team and gave away prizes amongst the players. In the enthralling 04 chakkar final match, 5, 2, 1 and 1 goals from the winning team were scored by Shah Qubali Alam, Flight Lieutenant Hamza, Squadron Leader Humayun and Air Vice Marshal Amir Masood Respectively.
Whereas for the runners-up team, Sub Inspector Amanat and Zarrar Abbasi scored 2 and 1 goals respectively, and two handicapped goals were given. Six polo teams including Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Air Force (Blue), Zacky Farms, Stallions and Archers participated in the seven-day long tournament which started on 13 November, 2017. High ranking military and civil officials and a large number of polo enthusiasts witnessed the match.
CAS Challenge Cup Polo Tournament was introduced in 1985 and ever since it has been a regular feature in the Sports Calendar. Acting Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, Air Marshal Farooq Habib awarding CAS Challenge Cup to the winning team, Pakistan Air Force, at the concluding ceremony of 26th Chief of Air Staff Challenge Polo Cup 2017 at Pakistan Park Lahore Cantt.
