F.P. Report

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator, Rehman Malik has said that he prays the government completes its tenure but ‘matters may get out of hand.’

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Rehman Malik said, “I pray that the government completes its tenure but if things continue the same way and if institutions are continued to be attacked, matters may get out of hand.”

He said that India does not let go of any opportunity to create problems for Pakistan but we should be thankful to God that we managed to avert a huge scheme of the enemy just yesterday in Peshawar.

The PPP Senator said, “I pray that the government completes its tenure but if things continue the same way, and if institutions are continued to be attacked, matters may get out of hand.”

Lashing at the ruling party and PPP’s rival, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), he said the government has no writ at present resultantly uncertainty is prevailed across the country.

“Whatever happened in Islamabad clearly shows there is no writ of the government,” Rehman Malik said, referring to the recent 22-day long sit-in by a religious party in the federal capital.

Pakistan continues to face threats from its enemies both internal and external, the PPP’ Senator said. “The enemy wants to ignite a fire of riots in the country,” he observed. “India has already said that it won’t let the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project be successful and similar inappropriate objections were raised by an American Senator about CPEC”, said Rehman Malik.

He also stressed that the country should remain united on the foreign and security policy as Pakistan is face up with external and internal threats all together.

“India does not let go of any opportunity to create problems for Pakistan but we should be thankful to God that we managed to avert a huge scheme of the enemy just yesterday in Peshawar,” Senator Rehman Malik said. He added that enemies wanted to replicate the Army Public School tragedy when in 2014 our 144 innocent students were put to death mercilessly.

Senator A. Rehman Malik said that Pakistan Peoples Party is the country major political power that exists in every party of the country and undermining it is just a misunderstanding. He added that Asif Ali Zardari as President of the country transferred all his powers to the Parliament as democracy and democratic institutions are always highly valued by PPP. “Leadership and workers of PPP have rendered numerous sacrifices for the sake of democracy”, he added. “After the martyrdom of Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto through wisdom and slogan “Long Live Pakistan” (Pakistan Khapay), Asif Ali Zardari saved and strengthened the country”, he said.

If the present government claims that conspiracies are being hatched against them, then they are in power and they can investigate who are conspiring against them, said Rehman Malik. He said he will advise PMLN to refrain from blaming and confronting the institutions because it is time for us to strengthen our institutions when Pakistan is facing multiple internal and external threats.

PPP’ Senior Leader Rehman Malik said that as then Interior Minister of Pakistan he wanted and tried to pass Madarassah Reforms Bill but then PMLN did not support his and his party. He said things would far better if National Action Plan (NAP) had implemented in its true and real spirits and it is time to review the NAP and its implementation.

He said that he is proud that very wisely and democratically PPP not only completed five years of democratic tenure as well as handled more serious challenges than the present government is failed to face and handle.
