15 Taliban members killed, injured

KABUL: At least 15 Taliban group members and their commanders were killed or wounded in a premature explosion triggered by an IED in Kunduz. The Ministry of Interior in a statement said Monday that nine Taliban group memebrs including their four commanders were killed in the explosion. The statement further added that six other Taliban group members also sustained injuries in the explosion. The incident took place in Jaga Aaraq Qazaq area of Qala-e-Zal as the militants were busy planting an Improvised Explosive device.

The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban have not commented regarding the incident so far.

Taliban militants often use improvised explosive devices as the weapon of their choice to target the security forces and government officials but in majority of such attacks ordinary civilians are killed. (Khaama Press)
