1,600 tankers rejected at border areas for low quality fuel: ANSA

KABUL (TOLOnews): Officials of the Afghanistan National Standards Authority (ANSA) said that they had turned back more than 1,600 oil tankers that were not standard.
According to the officials, from a total of more than 83,000 oil tankers, 1,600 of them were turned back because of their low quality.
“A delegation of the Afghanistan National Standards Authority visited Uzbekistan to discuss the import of standard gas and other materials,” said Wadidullah Badri, chief of staff for the office of ANSA.
The acting head of ANSA, Faizullah Tamim, urged the traders to import standard materials to the country.
“We call on traders and citizens to refrain from importing, producing and delivering non-standard materials into the country’ markets,” he said.
“The Afghanistan National Standards Authority has launched an assessment of oil stations across the country and closed hundreds of oil stations,” said Fazal Rahman Masour, an official of Afghanistan National Standards Authority.
The officials said that eight projects are underway to increase the standardization process in 1402 in Afghanistan.
