3-day Sports Summer Camp of Persons with different abilities ends

PESHAWAR: A three-day Sports Summer Camp organized by the Directorate General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Persons with Different Abilities at Nathiagali concluded on Thursday.
More than 40 participants from different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the camp organized with the aim to impart training and coaching to the upcoming players associated with different Games.
National and international male and female players were also invited to the camp to share their experiences with Persons with Different Abilities players besides motivating them to take active part in different healthy sports activities.
At the closing ceremony Deputy Director Sports Jamshed Baloch, Regional Sports Officer Hazara Region Ahmed Zaman distributed prizes among the athletes. International Cricketer Zarwar Zia Noor, international players Ehsan Danish, Zainab Noor, Iltaf Ullah, Abdullah, Chief Coach Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shafqat Ullah, Assistant Director Aizaz Khan, Sajid Afridi and other important personalities were present.
For the first time in the history of the country, a three-day Summer Sports Camp was organized for the Persons with Different Abilities besides providing them positive recreation including overcoming obstacles and building self-confidence in them.
In addition to indoor and outdoor competitions, Quiz, Declamation Contests, Trekking, Camping, Awareness Campaign Walk, Naat Khawani Competition were also organized during the three-day Camp with 40 male and female athletes who have represented Pakistan at national and international levels in the Paralympic Games were part of the Camp.
Addressing the function, Deputy Director Sports Jamshed Baloch, Organizing Secretary and Assistant Director Ashfaq Ahmed said that people with disabilities are very talented. If they are provided basic facilities, they can make a name for themselves and for the country in the world. The aim of the camp is to draw the attention of people with different abilities and impart self-confidence in them so that they can lead a successful life and carry out their daily tasks happily, they added.
Earlier, the participants also presented national songs including Khurshid Alam, Ehsan Danish, Malika Khan, Shama Afridi, Ms. Zainab, followed by parodies which largely enthralled the sitting spectators. At the end of the ceremony, both Jamshed Baloch, Ashfaq Ahmad, Shafqat Ullah, Hamid Ali, Azaz Khan and Sajid Afridi distributed certificates and prizes among all the players and the winners.
