7th Edition of PPC Media Cricket League to begin on Friday

PESHAWAR: The 7th edition of Media Cricket League will begin today (Friday). The league is a regular feature of Peshawar Press Club’s sports activities and is organized annually with the support of Rehman Medical Institute.

On Thursday, kits for all 16 teams were unveiled during a ceremony at Peshawar Press Club in which RMI Media Manager Shabbir Shah, PPC President Arshad Aziz Malik, General Secretary Irfan Musa Zai Press Club Ex-President M Riaz, Senior Journalist Amjad Aziz Malik, Bilal Afridi, Sports Writers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Asim Shiraz, Chairman of the Sports Committee Zafar Iqbal, members of the Organizing Committee and senior journalists including captains and players of the teams participating in the tournament participated.

On this occasion, RMI Media Manager Shabir Shah and Bilal Afridi while addressing the event said that it is very important to organize such healthy activities for the journalists who are performing their duties in tough conditions.

Addressing the event, Peshawar Press Club President Arshad Aziz Malik, General Secretary Irfan Musazai and senior journalist Amjad Aziz Malik said that organizing a cricket league for journalists on a regular basis is need of the hour. Arshad Aziz Malik thanked the RMI administration and said that RMI has fully supported Peshawar Press Club in every sports event. Later kits were distributed among the captains of the teams.

Total of 16 teams are divided into four groups. Top two teams from each group will enter the next round after which top four teams will enter the semi-finals.
