Javed Afridi welcomes Najam’s statement of holding international matches in Peshawar

PESHAWAR (APP): Chairman Peshawar Zalmi Javed Afridi Thursday welcomed Najam Sethi’s statement that international and PSL matches will be held in Peshawar.

Talking to media men Javed Afridi said that fans of Peshawar are eager to watch PSL matches, international cricket in their city, citizens of Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have made great sacrifices for peace in the country, Javed Afridi added.

Peshawar Zalmi has always tried to revive cricket in the country along with PCB and with the grace of Almighty Allah, Peshawar Zalmi will be in action at its home ground Arbab Niaz Stadium in PSL, Javed Afridi said.

He said the cricketers of Peshawar Zalmi will go to Army Public School Peshawar and salute the martyrs like they did in the past and playing at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium and newly inaugurated beautiful Hayatabad Cricket Stadium is an honor.

Peshawar Zalmi, Darren Sammy, foreign cricketers played their role in the revival of international cricket in the country by playing the final of PSL 2 and in future all the international players associated with Peshawar Zalmi would not only playing their practice matches but also they would part of the International cricket in Peshawar.

Javed Afridi also congratulated Peshawarites for the completion of the Hayatabad Cricket Stadium and expressed the hope that cricket stadiums like Hayatabad Cricket Stadium, Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium and beautiful Cricket Stadium to be constructed in Kamal valley would help in bringing international cricket to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Hayatabad Cricket Stadium was completed in a period of one year under the supervision of Pakistan Cricket Board and ICC at a cost of Rs. 1 billion. All the facilities of international standard have been provided in the Stadium. PSL matches and other international matches can be organized in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Javed Afridi. The completion of this stadium will help in the promotion of international cricket in the province, he concluded.
