Rawalpindi: This is to inform that 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Askari Bank Limited held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 11:00 am.
Besides other agenda items Election of Directors was also on the agenda of the meeting. The members were informed that pursuant to Section 159 (3) of the Companies Act 2017 the following persons have filed notices offering themselves to be elected as Directors of the Bank:
- Mr. Waqar Ahmed Malik
- Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Rehman
- Mr. Arif Ur Rehman
- Dr. Nadeem Inayat
- Syed Bakhtiyar Kazmi
- Mr. Manzoor Ahmed, NIT Nominee
- Mr. Kamran Yousuf Mirza
- Ms. Zoya Mohsin Nathani
- Ms. Samina Rizwan
- Raja Muhammad Abbas
Since the number of persons who have offered themselves for election is not more than the number fixed by the Board in terms of Section 159 (1) of the Companies Act, 2017, therefore, the above named persons stand elected as Directors of the Bank for a period of next three years w.e.f. March 29, 2023, subject to the clearance of the State Bank of Pakistan.
Further, Mr. Atif R. Bokhari, President & CEO of the Bank shall continue to be a deemed director in terms of Article 131 of the Articles of Association of the Bank read with Section 188 (3) of the Companies Act, 2017.
