Atmar, Vohra discuss chances for youths in higher education

KABUL: Afghan National Security Advisor Muhammad Hanif Atmar and Indian ambassador to Kabul Manpreet Vohra discussed fresh opportunities for Afghan youths in the field of higher education in India.

Afghan National Security Advisor Muhammad Hanif Atmar lauded the government and people of India for allocating scholarships for Afghan youths in various Indian universities in the past over one decade.

According to a press release issued by the office of national security advisor, Muhammad Hanif Atmar said the government wanted to work on the formation of effective mechanism for the allocation of free scholarships by India.

Initially, he said efforts would be put to provide job opportunities for Afghan youths who have acquired education from Indian universities.

More youths would be encouraged to utilize the opportunity of acquiring education in India.

Both the sides discussed the second gathering of Kabul process. They highlighted the importance and effectiveness of the Kabul process on regional and international levels.

On the occasion, Indian ambassador to Kabul Manpreet Vohra said his country was supporting peace process in Afghanistan and region. He assured full support of India in this regard.

Both the leaders discussed the Indian military cooperation with the security and defence forces of Afghanistan.
