Biden, Putin’s first meet

President Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin are expected to meet in Geneva in mid-June and both are likely to discuss several issues including Iran and North Korea’s nuclear capabilities, Syria, the Arctic, Afghanistan, strategic stability, arms control, climate change, COVID-19 and many more. According to reports, Biden and Putin had already talked to each other on telephone during which Biden made clear that the United States will act firmly in defense of its national interests in response to Russia’s actions, such as cyber intrusions and election interference. As said, President Biden also emphasized the United States’ unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and expressed concerns over the Russian military build-up in occupied Crimea and on Ukraine’s borders, and called on Russia to de-escalate tension. The two leaders also discussed the intent of the US and Russia to pursue a strategic stability dialogue on a range of arms control and emerging security issues to build on the extension of the New START Treaty.

United States and Russia both are each other’s stanch rival, and both never miss an opportunity to dent each other. However, their usual interaction and coordination on subjects of mutual interests also remains in place all the time. Russia’s aggressive resurgence at International level is being perceives as a threat by the US and it is obstructing Russian upsurge through economic sanctions and international alliances/partnerships, whereas Russia is actively pursuing its manifesto to increase its political and military influence across the globe. During early months of his presidency President Biden imposed economic sanctions and penalties against Russian Companies and ships working on gas pipeline Nordstrom II.

It has been noted that US is following more aggressive polices against Russia on diplomatic and economic front whereas Russia is heading forward very silently, leaving behind smoke of its activities and a ho cry of its adversaries. It is the battle of the two big powers which is continue in the East and West of the earth pushing millions in to distress and miseries. It is advisable to both Biden and Putin to limit their lust of Power and rule and the two big powers should start work to end the hostilities, miseries, poverty, and sufferings of mankind around the globe. When humanity will prosper, their rule will ultimately witness a boom.
