Closure of girls’ schools: Mayor assures redressal of owners’ demands

MARDAN: Mayor Mardan Himayat Ullah Mayar held meeting with Deputy Commissioner along with the local people and land owners regarding the closure of seven government girls’ schools including primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools in the district, on Tuesday.

Mayor Mardan argued land owner for opening of the schools. Landlords and local people agreed for opening of the schools on the terms of immediate recruitment after the ban on recruitment. Mayor Mardan Himayat Ullah Mayar assured the land owner that their demands will be fulfilled and said that the closure of the school will harm our children and our future and bring disrepute to the area, so the school should be opened completely so that the students can learn. He assured that the land owner’s demands would be fulfilled as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Police Officer Zahoor Babar Afridi with city division police officers in which SP Investigation Arshad Khan, SP City Shafi-ur-Rahman, DSP Ijaz Khan and Circle SHOs, in-charge police stations and investigation officers and others responsible Police officers attended.
In the meeting, security measures were discussed in detail, including the overall situation of crime and law and order at the divisional level. On this occasion, DPO Zahoor Babar Afridi in his address to the participants of the meeting said that all the police officers should ensure the safety of the lives and Property of the people by using all resources to maintain the atmosphere of law and order.

Actions should be continued indiscriminately against elements hostile to the country and society, including criminals, narcotics, aerial firing and social crimes. No one is allowed to disturb the peace, treat citizens who come to the police stations for legal assistance in a courteous manner by ensuring prompt legal proceedings. All Investigating Officers should complete all pending cases in a timely manner ensuring investigation process on merit and transparency.

All the responsible officers should play their positive role in solving the problems by getting help from the local leaders and DRCs to end the public conflicts and enmity in their jurisdiction while in view of the current situation, necessary orders were also issued regarding making the security arrangements of important and sensitive places, police installations and more effective and ensuring the implementation of security measures of Police personnel.
