PESHAWAR: District administration Thursday sealed 20 crush plants during crackdown against illegal crush plants in the district.
On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC), Saeedullah Jan along with Industry Development Officer of the Industries Department, Riaz Wazir visited different crush plants in the surrounding areas of Bahadar Kalley and Ring Road and sealed 20 plants for operating without registration and not fulfilling the code of conduct prepared by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
These crushing plats were already served with notices for their registration with the Industries Department and matching the code of conduct of the EPA, but it deaf ears to it.
The Deputy Commissioner, Peshawar has warned the owners of all crush plants to register their business with the Industries Department and follow the code of conduct of environment, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
