Dysfunctional power transformer irking residents

CHARSADDA: The non-availability of electricity in Umerzai area of Charsadda created several problems to the residents and traders as the power transformer of the area was dysfunctional from the last 20 days.

Ikram Khan, a resident of Umerzai bazaar told The Frontier Post that despite submitting several applications the authorities concerned were giving proper attention and keeping their blind eyes towards it which is injustice to the area. He added that it is the responsibility of the Wapda department to provide electricity to the masses and repair the power transformer in case of any fault. It is said that there 200 shops and 80 houses were using electricity from this trasfermer.

Similarly another resident identified as Umair Khan said that if the government didn’t provide us the electricity and other facilities then we need to pay the electricity bills and paying the government taxes. Salman told media persons that because of dysfunctional of power transformer in the area, he cannot bring daily bread for his family as all his work is totally dependent on the electricity.

Moreover, the residents and demanded from the authorities concerned to take notice of people and take concrete steps and repair the dysfunctional power transformer otherwise they will be compel to protest against it on the larger scale.
