ECP rejects PM Abbasi’s remarks regarding the 2018 general elections

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rejected the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi remarks regarding the upcoming elections and adding that ECP is fully independent and will conduct the polls without any interface of any force.

The ECP issued a statement on Friday and said that it is completely independent and all the arrangements were in final stage to hold the 2018 General Elections according to its legal and constitutional responsibilities.

Statement added that those who issuing such statements are totally based on speculation.

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had said that aliens will hold the next elections but even then the ruling party will take part in them.

Similarly, PML-N Quaid for life, Nawaz Sharif had also claimed that some hidden forces are preparing to assist the PTI and PPP in polls but ruling party will contest these forces.
