Electricity tariff likely to see yet another hike of Rs4.66

ISLAMABAD: The electricity tariff is likely to see yet another hike of around Rs4.66 per unit, on Tuesday.

According to sources, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) received the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) request to hike the electricity price by Rs4.66 per unit. 

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will hear the CPPA plea on December 27.

The recent increase in electricity tariff has been sought for November under monthly fuel adjustment.

The approval from the NEPRA will put an additional burden of Rs40 billion on the power consumers.

The consumers of K-Electric would not be affected by the expected hike.
