Folk artists forms “Folk Stars Group” to promote music

ISLAMABAD: Folk artists and singers of Punjab province have formed a “folk stars group” here in federal capital to promote folk music in the country.

Famous Punjabi folk singer Laila Jutti told that the formation of folk stars group was aimed to work for the revival of folk music in the country.

She said that the group would organize special musical events in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to entertain the fans of folk music.

She said that in this regard a special event was organized in federal capital and it was decided to work together for the promotion of folk music.

The folk singers in folk star group includes Hikmat Awan, Faraz Ali Khan, Asif Mir, Rizwan Jan, Waheed Sheikh, Shella Waraich, Ahmed Khan Niazi, Saud Sanu, Jamel Lohar, Azhar Awan, Anni Bukhari, Ali Sial, Naeem Shahzad, Munahiel Bukhari, Ishaq K. Gori and Shama Adil. 

  Punjabi folk music is the traditional musical instruments of the Punjab province.

Laila Jutti said that future of folk music was bright, as our new generation was showing interest in folk culture and music.

She said that new talent was doing a great job to promote folk music and folk culture of the country.
