Gas theft crackdown: 149 connections disconnected

LAHORE: During the ongoing crackdown against gas pilferers, SNGPL continued raids in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, disconnecting another 149 connections; Rs 2.09 million fine imposed.

In Lahore, the regional team disconnected 16 connections on illegal use of gas while another 21 on use of compressor and also imposed fine of Rs 0.11 million against gas theft cases.

In Rawalpindi the team disconnected 3 connections on illegal use of gas while another 5 on use of compressor.

In Multan 3 connections were disconnected on illegal use of gas while another 7 on use of compressor.

In Peshawar and Karak, the company disconnected 61 connections on account of direct use of gas and illegal use of gas and amount of Rs 1.959 million against gas theft cases. The team also lodged 3FIRs against gas pilfers.

In Sahiwal, the team disconnected 3 connections on the use of compressor.

The regional team of Sheikhupura disconnected 30 connections on illegal use of gas and also imposed fine of Rs 0.021 against gas theft cases.
