KARACHI: Islamabad United’s success against Peshawar Zalmi in practice match. Both the matches presented great opportunity to practice, Kamran Akmal Peshawar Zalmi has created a marvelous hype in Karachi before the start of PSL.
Star players Darren Sammy and Carlos Brathwaite did meet and greet with the fans. Fans chanted Darren Sammy’s name with one voice, while he gave the autographs and took selfies with them. During the practice match, Carlos Brathwaite also took selfies with his die-hard fans.
The maker of “Kaptaan Chappal” Noor Ud Din chacha presented Peshawari Chappal to Darren Sammy, Liam Dawson, and Livingstone. The foreign players showed their appreciation for Peshawari Chappal and Darren Sammy thanked Noor Ud Din chacha in Urdu “Noor Ud Din Chacha Aap Ka Shukriya”.
Islamabad remained successful in the practice match against Peshawar Zalmi with 56 runs. Kamran Akmal expressed that both the matches provided a great opportunity for the players to practice for the event.
In UBL Sports Complex, Islamabad United batted first and set a target of 195 for Peshawar Zalmi with the loss of 9 wickets. Imad Butt was the top scorer with 44 runs. Liam Dawson was able to take 3 wickets. From Peshawar Zalmi Liam Dawson scored 39, Kamran Akmal and Livingstone did 22 each. Peshawar Zalmi were all out for 139 runs. Shadab Khan and Hussian Talat took 3 wickets each.
After the practice match, Kamran Akmal in his discussion with the media expressed that the matches were not a great opportunity for the players to practice but also helped in assessing the form of players especially the foreign players. The bowlers also took advantage of the opportunity at hand and showed their talent as well.
