F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The federal government Monday approved the amendments in the visa policy, targeting to provide convenience in the visa process for foreign investors.

According to reports, the federal government approved visa policy amendments for a whopping 103 countries, opening the door to enhanced international collaboration and business ventures. Pakistani missions worldwide are now obligated to issue 5-year business visas within 10 days. One of the most noteworthy amendments is the immediate issuance of a 6-month business visa within 24 hours upon the recommendation of the SIFC. This expedited process promises to greatly enhance the ease of doing business in Pakistan, making it more attractive to foreign investors.

Short-term investor visas, valid for one year, will also undergo swift processing, taking just 24 hours. For more substantial commitments, a three-year investor visa will be issued within the same timeframe, provided there’s a recommendation from the SIFC.

Additionally, for those seeking work visas, a 2-year visa will be granted within a month after the receipt of security clearance.

The federal cabinet has given its consent to the visa policy amendments through the circulation of the summary.

These visionary changes have been formally approved by the Federal Cabinet, marking a turning point in Pakistan’s efforts to enhance its appeal to the global business community. The revamped visa policy, facilitated by the SIFC, is poised to usher in a new era of economic growth and collaboration in the country.
