ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet has approved strict actions in today’s session if PTI Chief announces anther long march to invade federal capital in the coming days. It was shared by the Interior Minister, Rana Sanaullah flanked by Federal Minister for Communication, Maulana Asad Mahmood and Advisor to Prime Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Qamar Zaman Kaira in a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Rana Sanaullah informed the media in a post cabinet session news briefing that the federal cabinet deliberated on 25th May’s so-called Azadi March and termed it a conspiracy against the state instead of a political activity.

Sanaullah claimed that the PTI used the resources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government while PTI lawmakers violated their oaths by taking part in an anti-state march on May 25th.

According to Rana Sanaullah, PTI supporters were intended to spread anarchy and chaos through violent actions against the law enforcers and many participants of Swabi public rally were armed with lethal weapons who later proceeded toward the capital. Sanaullah said that the government’s stance about bloody march was supported by the statement of the PTI Chief regarding marchers carrying arms during the previous Azadi March.

While briefing about the decisions taken by the federal cabinet in today’s meeting, Rana Sanaullah told the reporters that the cabinet decided that the criminal cases should be registered under Pakistan Penal Code against those involved in creation and provocation of violence against the government and state institutions.

According to him, the government has formed a committee under the Interior Minister to evaluate the recent provocative statement of PTI’s Chief Imran Khan and Chief Minister KP, Mahmood Khan regarding use of KP’s force in future long marches called by the PTI Chairman Imran Khan. The Cabinet Committee would comprise of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to PM for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Federal Minister for Communication, Maulana Asad Mahmood, Federal Minister of Law and Justice, Senator Azim Nazir Tarar and MNA, Ayaz Sadiq.

While speaking on the occasion, Communication Minister Maulana Asad Mahmood said that the government has decided that writ of the law will be maintained at all cost and defaulters would be dealt with iron hand.

According to him, PTI leaders had attempted to take the law in their hands during the previous march and intimidating the state and state institutions through inflammatory remarks and verbal attacks which is not only illegal but actionable under the law.

While PPP leader and Advisor to PM for Kashmir and GB affairs was of the view that the government would not allow anyone to spread violence in the country and PTI leaders must remember that the law would take its path and no violator will escape from prosecution in due course of time.

While answering a media query, the government machinery and LEAs are better prepared this time and are ready to take on the long marcher this time and he will see how they cross the barriers next time. The Interior Minister warned the PTI leadership of serious consequences and arrest during the preparation of the march if Imran Khan announces a long march in the future.
