F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood has directed police high ups to solve the confronting problems of the heirs of police shuhadda on priority basis and make best use of the available resources for welfare of shuhadda families. These directives were given to all police officers throughout the province on Wednesday.

The police officer and jawan sacrificed their lives to safeguard the nation and ensure protection to life, honour and property of the general public and it was incumbent upon the police force to ensure provision of better education to the children of police shuhadda and fulfill their basic requirements of life on priority basis.

The IGP has directed the police officers to personally visit to the doorsteps of each shuhadda house in their respective jurisdiction and know from the shuhadda family themselves their confronting problems and take immediate steps for its solution on the spot.

It is worth mentioning that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police force was fighting as a front line force against the terrorist and last year, 30 officers and jawans rendered matchless sacrifices and thus added a new chapter in history of police shuhadda.

The KP government keeping in view the pivotal role of police in the ongoing war against terrorist revised the police shuhadda package and added more incentives to it.

As per revised shuhadda package Rs.10 million was being paid to the legal heirs of every constable, head constable, ASI, sub inspector and inspector Rs. 15 million to legal heirs of DSP/ASP and Rs. 20 million to each heirs of SP, SSP, DIG and upper rank officer.  Last year Rs. 30 crore and 50 lac were given to legal heirs of police shuhadda.

Moreover children of police shuhadda were being imparted free education as well as best medical treatment from police welfare fund.

Likewise, full salary up to the shaheed age of superannuation is being given to the shaheed family. The son of shaheed having matric qualification is enlisted in the force as constable while F.A passed son is directly enlisted as ASI.

The police force gave high respect to the unprecedented sacrifices of police shuhadda and vowed that no efforts would be spared for solution of their problems.
