IHC rejects Dar’s petition challenging corruption proceedings

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s petition in which he challenged his indictment by the accountability court in a corruption reference against him.

Justice Athar Minallah said during the proceedings that a petition is ineffective and how can court suspends the proceedings when the indictment has taken place.

National Accountability Court (NAB) has filed corruption reference against the finance minister Ishaq Dar on the directives of Supreme court which it given in the verdict of Panama case on July 28.

On Monday, Ishaq Dar submitted petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against his indictment in corruption reference by Accountability court and claimed that he was indicted in a hurry and requested the court to suspend the indictment proceedings.

Ishaq Dar demanded from the IHC to order the accountability court to suspend its trail proceedings and given time to file his response on the case, however on Tuesday the IHC rejects his petition against the accountability court indictment proceedings.
