India’s illegal actions in IIOJK

Pakistan Foreign Office called India, to rescind all it’s Illegal actions and take measures for peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir Dispute according to resolutions of United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Pakistani Spokesperson Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said that the situation of human rights in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) is deteriorating every single day and the independent voices across the globe are continuously raising concerns on the gross human rights violations by the Indian occupation forces in the valley. Chaudhry was addressing weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.

According to him, Indian occupation forces martyred one more innocent Kashmiri youth last week, in staged “cordon-and-search” operation in Sopore town of Baramulla district in IIOJK. Pakistan condemned the continuing extra-judicial killings by the Indian occupation forces in the valley. Mr. Chaudhry noted that several independent organizations including European Parliament’s Sub-Committee on Human Rights, UK Parliamentarians, Editors Guild of India had categorically raised their voices against the worst human rights situation and continued crackdown on civil society and human rights activists in IIOJK.

This is not the first time, that Pakistan called India to come up to secure the peace and stability in the region by reversing its unilateral actions in IIOJK and provide conducive environment to initiate the process to resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute under the resolutions of UNSC.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan invited the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate peace process in his speech at the eve of Kashmir Solidarity day at Kotli, Azad Kashmir on February 5, this year. Prime Minister expressed his resolve by stating that Pakistan would proceed two steps in response to a single step for achieving peace by the India, but he further clarified that Pakistan’s desire for peace must not be misinterpreted as its weakness. Earlier, similar stance was taken up by the Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, in his address at graduation ceremony at PAF Academy Risal Pur in first week of February this year.

When we talk to rescinding the illegal actions by India to provide conducive environment for dialogue, it come to all those actions taken by the Indian government after 4 August 2019. It includes the all actions of August 5, such as revocation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Indian’s constitutions article 370, 35A and Article 6 of the constitution of Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir. India must nullify all its efforts undertaken by it for the very purpose of changing the demography and status of the disputed territory by issuing 3.3 million Kashmiri domiciles to Indian Hindus and establishing colonies for retired Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir. India must stop its invasion on Kashmiri culture and Islamic heritage in IIOJK beside its more than 19 months long siege in the valley.

All these illegal unilateral action by the Modi’s government put drastic effects on the people of Kashmir and complicated the Kashmir dispute. India cannot curtail this situation in the valley for longer time, it must hear the sane voices across the world and act to normalize the situation by easing the restrictions. Government of Pakistan energetically raise the case of Indian’s crimes against humanity with Biden administration, who claims to have human rights as a pillar of its foreign policy around the globe. We suggest that government of Pakistan must hire the services of a well-connected lobbying firm in USA to get some solid response from Biden administration on Kashmir dispute.
