LANDIKOTAL: The Khyber Table Tennis team has won final match of a table tennis event in merged areas sports festival held at Bajaur ‘Khar’ sports complex last day.
The sports festival in merged areas had been organized directorate of sports and culture erstwhile-Fata. The Khyber tennis team contains four players among them Rohullah Shinwari, Sartaj Afridi, Asif and Altaf Shinwari as the captain of the team while Nasib Shah Shinwari was manager of the squad.
The table tennis matches were held at Khar headquarter of Bajaur sports complex wherein the Khyber Zalmi table tennis team defeated the Bajaur team with 3:0 set points.
The players and team manager ‘Nasib Shah Shinwari’ applauded the directorate of sports for organizing such big sports event for tribal players. It is to mention here that Khyber district table tennis squad is winning the tribal areas sports grand festival for 4th time consecutively which is a honor for tribal people and players.
The players have demanded the high ups to provide facilities to table tennis players of Khyber district and construct an indoor facility at Landikotal and Jamrud sports complex for this sport. Players always arrange sports stuff for themselves and most of them are faced with monetary situation.
