Major riots break out at protest in Paris

PARIS (RIA Novosti): Large riots erupted again at a protest in Paris in the Rue de Rivoli area, the police use tear gas and water cannons, RIA Novosti reports.

The column of demonstrators, having reached the final point of the route, the Palais Royal, turned in the opposite direction, as law enforcement agencies blocked further movement.

There were many aggressive people in the crowd. They threw stones and bottles at law enforcement officers. Hooligans set up barriers and destroyed city property.

The police used tear gas on several occasions. Then water cannons were used. Law enforcers pushed the protesters back to the Palais Royal.

There are casualties as a result of the collisions.

Opponents of sanitary passes take to the streets for the ninth Saturday in a row. Summer protests took place in a calm atmosphere.
